Write Because You Love it: A Summer Teen Writers Workshop
Instructor, Tina Tocco
Wednesday, July 7, 14, 21, 28
10:30 am 12 noon
via Zoom
Do you love to write fiction? Would you like to generate new work this summer? Would it be helpful to get feedback from other teens who take writing as seriously as you do?
In this four-week workshop, you’ll use prompts to create new stories, experiment with form, and discuss the writing process. You’ll even learn how to submit your writing to publications and contests seeking work from young authors. This workshop focuses on positive feedback, so you’ll be able to take what you learn in class and confidently improve your writing.
Teens at all levels of writing experience are welcome. Workshop is limited to 8 students.
The fee for the four-week workshop is $100.

Tina Tocco’s writing for young people has appeared in Highlights, Highlights High Five, Cricket, AppleSeeds, Humpty Dumpty, Pockets, and other children’s publications. She is the author of the children’s poetry collection The Hungry Snowman and Other Poems (Kelsay Books, 2019). Tina’s fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have also been published in various literary journals and anthologies. In 2019, she was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in fiction.
