Welcome to Arts Escape’s new blog, smART Living! My name is Ryan, and I will be managing the posts from this page. I’m a student at Southern Connecticut State University, and I’m excited to be working with Arts Escape! We will use these weekly entries to discuss art- and age-related articles, announce events and workshops, and more. Our biggest goal here at smART Living is to keep our readers and followers engaged in our content. We want to see creative discussions, ideas, and inspiration lighting up our newsfeeds and comment threads. It’s just like what Helen Keller said: “Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much." In addition, we hope to expand our audience to open the door for more creative older adults. We like to use that term, “older adults,” instead of “seniors,” to erase any existing stigmas and create an open environment to embrace art. Through sharing on social media, we believe this venue can introduce more people to our workshops and programs, and possibly provide that extra boost of motivation they might have been looking for. We hope you look forward to seeing more from us, and remember, Arts Escape is where creativity and learning never get old!
