Pysanky with Father Paul
Help Ukraine while honoring their beautiful Easter tradition. Arts Escape is honored to be working with Father Paul Luniw to offer a Ukrainian egg making workshop. A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg that is decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using wax and dyes. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" or as the designs are inscribed with beeswax. Fr. Paul will give a brief lecture about the history of Ukrainian egg making and then will demonstrate the methods that will be used to make the creation. We will be collecting cash/check donations for the Ukraine on the day of the workshop that Fr. Paul is sending through his church for relief efforts.
This class is limited to 20 participants. If it fills up, a second class will be held on Wednesday, April 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Check artsescape.org for details!
COVID POLICY: All attendees must show proof of vaccination. Masks are optional.
CLASS DATE & TIME: Wednesday, April 6th from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
COST: $35 per person plus a $15 supply fee to be paid on the day of the class.
