A writing club for housebound TEEN writers!

All that virtual learning making you restless? Bored out of your gourd? Need to express your feelings in these trying times? Join a group of like-minded and talented young writers in our area who are looking for a safe place to experiment with ideas and a wide variety of writing forms. We will meet by Zoom every Sunday in April from 4:00 to 5:30 to try new genres, share our writing, and get encouragement and useful feedback. Think of this as the Creative Writing Club your school probably doesn't have -- but should! Meetings start Sunday, April 5.

Chuck Jones is a veteran educator and writing instructor with almost 50 years of experience helping people understand and express themselves in a wide variety of writing genres from haikus to novels. A Graduate Fellow of the National Writing Project, Chuck has taught writing to students from middle school to graduate school. As the director of a graduate program at George Washington University, he helped ESL teachers set up writing workshops in their classrooms. An especially enjoyable part of his MFA program in theater directing at Catholic University was working with playwrights to shape their work for the stage. Several members of Chuck’s writing groups have gone on to careers as successful writers. All of them have enjoyed the relaxed and stress-free workshop format and the company of fellow writers.

The fee for the Writing Club is $45 and is limited to 10 students.
