In this 3 day, 6 – hour class, instructor Betty Ann Medeiros will teach students the basics of oil painting and how to best manipulate the paint. Students will learn about materials and how they are used while exploring the foundational techniques such as: color mixing, color value, composition, brushwork, paint application and texture. In this class, students will do small exercises to get used to mixing colors and practice the technique of fat versus lean. Students will follow along with the instructor in a step-by-step fashion to practice techniques and create a finished painting. This class is designed for those who would like to try oil painting before committing to a longer workshop. The fee for the 3 day class is $75 and all supplies are included.
