Join guitarist John Tuohy for a presentation of 3 music lectures with live demonstrations.

Wednesday, August 7th - Features music from 1920's and 1930's Big Band Swing Era.  John will play and discuss many examples from such luminary artists such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and many more.  Not only will we listen to a variety of great, swinging Big Band Music, but John will also perform his own guitar arrangements of famous big band classics."

Wednesday, September 11 - "The Development of Jazz in the 1960's and 1970's- The 1960's and 1970's featured the concurrence of recording studio innovation, the rise of large record companies, and the inevitable flowering of multiple sub-genres in Jazz Music.  John's presentation will focus on the development of key jazz artists throughout this time period including Stan Getz, John Coltrane and Bill Evans and their contributions in these decades. We will listen to many of their famous recordings, as well as guitar arrangements of some of their most famous songs that John will perform."

Wednesday, October 9th - "The All-Time Greatest Jazz Ballads"- Picked out of the top 30 Jazz ballads of all time list on, we will listen to and discuss the beautiful art of the jazz ballad, from artists such as Louis Armstrong, George Gershwin, Etta James, and more.  John will also play guitar arrangements of jazz ballads in addition to listening to famous recordings of these acclaimed jazz artists."

The fee for each lecture is $15 or $20 at the door or you can bundle all 3 lectures for $40. Seating is limited, so advance registration is recommended.
