
Learn to Play the Ukulele for Beginners

Join instructor John Tuohy for a one-day workshop designed for beginner students. This class will focus on the basics of learning to play the instrument—from chords, to finger placement, to learning patterns and more. Students will learn to play a song by the end of the workshop.

The fee for the 90-minute class is $45. Class size is limited to 10 students.


Guitarist John Tuohy, based out of Fairfield County, is a music instructor and lecturer who focuses on teaching about artists and their work, while playing live musical performances to tell their story. John lectures and hosts demonstrations for diverse audiences on many topics of legends and icons from the first half of the 20th century. He currently is the in-house music lecturer at Riverwalk Assisted Living in the Bronx.
John has performed with many groups across multiple genres. His progressive rock band Mile Marker Zero won “Best Band in Connecticut” at the 2016 New England Music Awards.
John graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Connecticut State University with a degree in Jazz Performance. He has worked as a private guitar instructor for over 20 years and has contributed session work for various artists and companies. He has been featured by Gearwire.com and judged the “King of the Blues” contest at Guitar Center.
