Ever wanted to illustrate that beautiful rose, lily or iris blooming in your garden? Spend an afternoon exploring what contemporary botanical art is all about! In conjunction with describing the process of building an accurate portrayal of a plant, students will complete a small botanical painting of a single subject. Designed for beginners but all levels are welcome.  The fee for the 3-hour workshop is $100 which includes all supplies.  Class size is limited to 8 students.

Betsy has been painting and drawing since childhood. Inspired by her English grandfather and his love of gardens Betsy has focused on illustrating plants and their habitats. She often follows the full life-cycle of a plant for a full year before beginning a painting. She received a Certificate in Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden in 2006 and has been illustrating plants ever since. .Betsys work has been shown widely in the US and was exhibited in London at the Royal Horticultural Botanical Art Exhibition 2016  where she was awarded the prestigious Silver Gilt Award for her series of paintings titled The Lifecycle of the Milkweed and Monarch.** More information about Betsy and her work can be found on our website under instructors. Registration is closed.  Check back for future workshops.
