The word anime is the Japanese term for animation, which means all forms of animated media.  Outside Japan, anime refers specifically to animation from Japan often characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastical themes. This introduction class is with Anime artist, Taylor Albee. Her goal is to teach budding artists how to use color, design, technique, and emotion to create illustrations reflecting the anime and manga style. The class will start off with the basics and a quick introduction into what anime is and illustration basics.  Students will learn about the shapes that go into character creation including drawing full outlines. Students will also learn the process of drawing lines and full construction of  their characters. Shading and how to develop unique features of the genera such as the characters eyes, expressions, gender, and clothing will also be explored. The 3-day workshop is for students ages 8 - 11. The fee for the introductory 3-day class is $50 which includes all supplies.  Class size is limited to 8 students.
