En Plein Air Painting @ Pine Meadow Gardens

Register

Instructor, Anda Styler
Thursday, September 17th
1 pm - 4 pm

Pine Meadow Gardens are privately owned by Landscape Architect, Wesley Rouse and Dr. Robert McWilliams in Southbury. They have graciously offered Arts Escape Students the opportunity to paint and draw in their gardens until the end of the season.

Anda Styler will be holding a one-day, 3 - hour Plein Air workshop in the gardens in acrylic or oils. This class is limited to 10 students.

Anda paints both in and out of the studio and continues to explore new subject matter. She is particularly drawn to the New England landscape, especially the magic of the Litchfield Hills in Northwestern Connecticut. "I love to capture the hidden places that are not often seen," she says. "New England barns are fast disappearing, and there is a special magic in the landscape where the old barns are; the fields that are full of wild flowers and grasses."
Styler is also an avid gardener and many of the flowers that appear in her work come from her own garden. Working with shadow, light, vibrant color, mood and sky, she hopes to bring excitement to her work that reflects the world around her, and captures the unique and lasting beauty that only nature reflects. Anda's instruction focuses on the power of using light and shadow in the landcape with a limted color pallet to create harmony in your paintings.

The fee for the the class is $55 and is limited to 10 students. Rain Date, September 24th.

*** Masks must be worn during instruction and all students are required to keep their social distancing while attending the workshop.
