Drawing in Preparation for Portrait Painting

Students will learn how to enlarge and draw a portrait from a photograph using the grid method and then  transfer their drawing to a larger canvas. The focus will be on capturing a likeness.

( bring in an 8x10 photocopy of a portrait that you would like to eventually paint)

If you need help printing a photograph email it to Arts Escape the week before class

This class is for all levels and can be taken by students who will complete their portrait in either oils, or acrylics.

Following the two-week class, students will have the opportunity to sign-up for a 6-week Portrait Painting class in either Oils or Acrylics.

11x14 or larger canvas
Oil primed linen for oil painting
Acrylic primed linen for acrylic painting

The fee for the two-week class is $65 which includes supplies and class size is limited to 10 students.
