The defining criterion for a dot painting is the technique used - that it is produced by repeated imprints of a paint covered brush, dotting stick or other implement onto the surface of the painting and that in doing so, there are recognizable 'dot' marks on the canvas.  Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism.  Dot painting, however, seeks a level a perfection and precision in the dots that is not inherent in pointillism.

Students will create a one-of-a kind journal personal journal to take home at the end of the workshop.

The fee for the 2-hour workshop is $45 which includes all supplies and Registration is closed. New Class registering for March.
