Don't understand Poetry?  Think it's not your cup of tea?  This workshop may be just for you!

A poem can speak volumes with a handful of words. Come celebrate National Poetry Month in April and try your hand at writing your own poems. In this two-part class, instructor Nancy McMillan will introduce students to a set of contemporary, accessible poems and lead the class in a discussion of the basic elements of poetry.

These poems will be used as a springboard for students to write their own poetry. Students will experiment with a variety of poetic forms as the instructor guides them step-by-step in creating their own work. Writing by hand is recommended but not required.

No experience is necessary, but do bring your spirit of play!

The fee for the two-day workshop is $60. Class enrollment is limited to eight students.
