Professor, Alfred Hunt
Tuesdays, September 17th & 24th
2 pm - 3 pm
Professor, Alfred Hunt approaches his history lecture through famous pieces of artwork that depicted events in history. These sessions will use art and photography as the framework for narrating the history of the United States up to the 20th century. The focus will not be on the aesthetics of the art works per se, but rather on what they tell us about the story of American culture from the American Revolution to the end of the 19th century. The lives of selected artists as American icons will also be considered. The fee for the 2 lectures is $35. Early registration is recommended due to limited seating.
